I have Windows 98 and a slow dial-up connection. High speed isn't available in my area yet. As Charlie Brown would say, "RATS!"

I recently purchased on line Norton Internet Security 2004 upgrade. My problem is that when I follow the instructions to download it i. e. entering my order number and password and clicking find, then download, I am supposed to receive a message "Save this program to disk" I however get a message "do you want to remove the current content of the file "setup. exe" and start the download over.

I presently have a Norton Antivirus Subscription that expires in 13 days and am getting desperate. Am I supposed to unistall this one before I try and download the new one or should I just get myself down to the computer store ASAP.

as far as I know all previous versions of norton must be removed before Installing another.

I'm not clear if you purchased a subscription update or if you purchased a new program, the Norton Internet Security package.

If this is just a subscription update, you should not uninstall the Norton. If you purchased a new program, then you should uninstall the old one before installing the new one.

However, for a dialup connection, the new program download is huge. If it were me, I'd go to Wal-Mart or a similar discount store and purchase the program on CD.

And, I might suggest you can download and install two free programs that will provide an equal level of protection.
