My computer was running and doing perfect and all of a sudden, it's completely invaded with spyware. Apparently, the PC illian (sp?) that I have doesn't do anything with spyware (??) and I downloaded tuneuputilities last nite and it didn't do anything either.

Is there something I can do to get rid of this crap? It's driving me nuts and my computer is SO slow now Frown

HELP!!!

You could use the spyware search and destroy programs (Ad-Aware and Spybot) to remove these offensive programs. And you can get the program "SpywareBlaster" which prevents their downloading into your system in the first place.

These are links to the Spyware removal tools mentioned:

Ad-Aware, Spybots, and SpywareBlaster

If you like, you can contact me and I can remotely install these programs and hopefully correct the faults in your system. Read more about this here.

I hope something here helps. If you would rather do this yourself, please post back and we'll go through the steps in detail for you.

I hope this helps, at least a little!

Okay, I downloaded the spywareblaster one...didn't get rid of the spyware though. Which one one should I download next, Dwight, or should I do all of the ones you have listed? Also, should I uninstall the tuneuputilities that I have put in there?

This sucks and it's way too hard Frown

SpywareBlaster does not remove spyware, but it will prevent it in the first place.

I would suggest the Spybots next. Once that is installed, then updated then run, remove all items that it finds. You may have to restart your computer to get all of the nasties.

Then follow with the Ad-Aware. Same drill; install, update and run. Remove everything it finds.

Then I strongly suggest the hosts file. Again, please feel free to contact me via my Webpage email if you need assistance with this via remote connection.

Dwight, I read your advice and went and installed spybot. I already have ad-aware. Spybot found 88 items that needed to be deleted. Thanks for your information. Sure helped me, John McNatt AKA Johnny Velo, Juneau the capital.
