I checked the Add/Remove page via the control panel . There were 20 listings similar to the following :

Windows XP Hotfix KB821557 ( three with KB before the number ) and 17 with Sp2
Windows XP Hotfix ( Sp2) Q328310 . Nothing to indicate the " Find-itnow " entry . Should I delete these , assuming that somehow they contain this setting ?

I also assume that somewhere in the computer there must be some kind of entry for this annoying site ???

Also the above entry was not shown when I checked the Start button .

What next ? Thanks

Hi nanman,DO NOT delete any Windows XP Hotfixes!! these are downloaded from microsoft when you install any critical updates (usually relating to security issues) when you click on Windows Update in the start menu.
Try installing Spybot Search and Destroy as with AdAware check for updates before running,I run both and sometimes one will find something the other has missed.
Once you do get rid of this pest install Browser Hijack Blaster this should greatly reduce the chances of picking up other
browser hijackers.
