The inability to update Windows is often caused by a corruption of some Windows files. In my experience, the best way to get help with this is by asking for Microsoft Technical Support via email. This is free and they are very good about providing detailed responses with step-by-step advice on how to provide them the information that they need. A similar came up recently and this AnswerPool response thread may be helpful: Unable to update WindowsThe section about SFC may apply in your situation, too. But please try the Microsoft Technical Support first, since that is probably the best way to solve this problem. Dwight
