My ISP now has a program in operation where it 'scans' any and all mail before delivering it to my Inbox.

They notify me by adding "spam alert" for anything containing spam and "virus detected" to the subject line.

Handy, as there were two "virus detected" notices this morning and I was able to delete them before they opened. I have the 'Mark message read after' option set to 15 seconds so it gives me plenty of time to get rid of anything I don't want.

BTW, to set up this delay, go to Tools/Options/Read and under 'Reading Messages, check 'Mark message read after displaying for---add the number of seconds you wish, then click 'Apply-OK'.

This option does not give any protection whatever. Your computer can be infected a thousand times in 15 seconds. You would not open an infected attachment, of course, but the e-mail itself can carry the virus -- and viewing it in the preview pane will infect the computer.

And what is the name of the program the ISP gave U?

These programs are run on the mail server itself, not distributed to the clients.
