Join the club! Let me tack on my problem to your post. AOL (yes, I know Roll Eyes) sends me a notice 'Your spyware needs updating to its latest version' almost every day.I've given up responding because I click to download but within 72 hours I get the same message.Any idea how to stop this? Or is AOL updating its spyware almost daily?

This is a known issue with this update have to try 2 or 3 times to get the message to clear Mad
Otherwise you will have to get somebody with experiece to set up Microsofts workaround
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954430

Me Personally I'd do a System Restore .Much more straight forward option (and easy to do)
Next time this is offered decline the download missing 1 update is not going to break your computer

Fred, the Spyware scan notice could be the result of a setting
Do this:
1 Click on the AOL triangle by the clock
2 Move the Mouse pointer over Computer Check-up Click Open Computer Check-up
3 Locate the Settings Tab Click it
4 Next Window, click on the Edit Settings Link(In small print)
5 Next window is "Active Update Settings"
Click the setting to "Allow all updates...."

The other setting "Prompts" you (Nag message!) Frown
Finally the message below this should say "Always"(after using my AOL sofware)?

Lastly click the Save button and you never see that message again! Smile

If you are still connecting up using AOL 9.0. AOL are telling people to ditch it and Instead connect with dialBB Means some disruption with AOL Email (Have to use the Web based site to pick up mail)
There is a good free workaround Program Called Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop which collects all your webmail and you can send from it too (as AOL)
I have AOL,Yahoo and Gmail all coming in and they All can be read offline ,Composed offline too. I think a busy Person like Yourself can use it as a Mini archive Cool

Setting up the DialBB.com link will take you a few Moments then all you do in Future is Click on the DialBB link Click the "Connect" button Open Internet Explorer and Start browsing (like you would with a Router)
No Password all you see is your Phone Number @DialBB.com Smile
And thats about it. I think AOL Customer Support have to activate it (at their end)
Have to be online when this is done. Basically
its typing in your "Phone number @ Dialbb.com" and Ticking a setting box.Simple as that

Still need your AOL password to Get at your Mail (Even on Zimbra) Smile

www.zimbra.com/products/desktop.html

To see the DialBB Icon click on Network Connections on the Start menu (Under Control Panel)
Nothing showing, then Phone AOL for a download Tell then you want the "DialBB Connectivity update"
Only Modification I made was to drag the Dial BB icon onto the Windows Desktop, and Start/Stop the connection from this shortcut Wink

I asked a similar question here but never got a reply. It helps for me to know that it's not unique to my machine.
