I kept getting returned email messages for several days. I haven't got any in a week. That is until today. I just got 5 of them. I don't even know these people that I am supposedly trying to send these emails too. And it's about saving on prescriptions or some stupid thing. And it says it's from Luna and then my email address. (this one did) My name is not Luna. Is this some kind of email virus?? (I blocked out my email address and the address of the person I was "trying" to send it too) Thank You! Smile

This is one of the ones I received today...

The original message was received at Tue, 10 Feb 2004 18:27:39 -0500 (EST)

Your email address is probably being used to send spam emails out. It happens a lot and there is little you can do other than report it to AOL and that is nearly worse than the mails being sent from your name. A virus can do this, but there is a script that can be used as well and it has nothing to do with a virus. I would go the trouble of reporting it to AOL an not worry a lot about it.

Along with the information Hugh gave you, play it safe and change your AOL password. Somebody may have that info and is using your AOL account.

Hey thanks. I never thought about the spam thing. I reported to AOL as spam already. I reported it and it got sent directly to my spam folder.

And I never thought about changing my password either. I usually try and change it every once in awhile justfor this reason but it has been a very long time since I have.

Thanks...now all I have to is remember how to change my password LOL

Thanks again Smile

Just a thought
I had a few of these in my AOL mailbox recently but they were in my Opinion deliberately generated to appear like they were "Bounced" messages (New trend of spamming?) Roll Eyes
I know by looking in my "sent" mailbox what I have reported,so unless you have sent an email direct to a website you are better than 99% likely not to get a bounce Off AOL
The AOL practice is to generate an "Mailbox Full" message instantly if it's bounced(Off an AOL system address) or another message if off another AOL members address such as "This member is not accepting Mail"As to Websites other than AOL's internal system, the time it take to generate a Bounce message can be anything from 1 minute to perhaps an hour or 2? So if you are backtracking through that message for the original Post time (making allowances for Time zones(Maths get complex here Confused))
Bottom line (moral) If you haven't sent it, it's not yours to worry about..just delete it
If it repeats Frown then Click the "Report Spam" button and give the people at AOL something to do Smile
