I like the free AVG from Grisoft the best. It does run on Windows Vista.

Link to AVG here Click the "Spyware" link, then look just below that section for the to the free download.

The answer is yes they don't conflict

Add Spywareblaster and Ad-Aware too and you have got a good defence
And if you have the Room Install Windows Defender as well (all free) Smile

And of course a Good Firewall if you are on Broadband...Kerio is good (free)

I have McAfee Firewall which came as part of my Broadband Package (this is easy to set up) and reliable This ia a Pay Program ...though An Older version was offered for "free "last year...and was posted here as a Heads-up

I would suggest that you don't go overboard with installing two anti-virus programs. Windows Vista does come with a Firewall that is supposed to be an improved version compared with the Windows XP one, but I would suggest you get another one, just in case. In time the Windows Vista firewall may prove to be sufficient for home users.

ZoneAlarm Firewall (my favorite) does not have the Vista version ready yet, so I would suggest you get another one. You can use a router which would include a hardware firewall. The Linksys models have the best protection, in my opinion. A router will cost about $50 - $80 US dollars.Linksys

At this point I don't know the status of Vista version antispyware software, so I suggest using the Vista build in protection for now.

Another excellent protection idea is the modified hosts file. You can read about it and see installation instructions at this site: Host File Be sure to read the modified installation instruction for Windows Vista systems.
