I thought I was going to be stumped by a bad,bad
Trojan on RealPlayer

but 5 minutes before I started editing it /spell checking for posting, I found the answer

(see below)
Been on this for several hours...
Time getting on for 5:10am Sunday morning in the UK

quote:
I down loaded RealPlayer10 Beta off the Real.com site as an update.
Refused 'all the offers' and add-ons bar the 'alert for upgrades' signed in with my password/username
Ok, all goes well for an hour or 2. Am online surfing when a popup springs up saying a Dll file also the Real toolbar which I did not want (I only use the main controls)
I followed this instruction AND ... 10 minutes later it is back again.
Cancel it ... back again (intermittent times) both Off-line and Online

This has been going on for 2 weeks or so..So I decided to remove all traces of RealPlayer and run a sweep for viruses, (which turned up nothing)
I did find what looked like a Spyware Generator tag in the Registry Called RealBar
But looking through my Spywareblaster list it is not listed there.
Next step uninstalled Realplayer giving the Default back to the AOL program also checked and deleted as many entries as possible. However ,there's a snag AOL has a customised RealPlayer file somewhere so when the RealPlayer is deleted the AOL program draws on its back up file...
Ok I cleared the Program reset the computer and...BONG! up pops the entire RealPlayer again
(with Realbar attached
) even though the original download file has been deleted.
Where is this hidden? because going back to default(Aol MediaPlayer) has no icon ,It senses when to come into play,But this is a toughie(I've battled(with Byter) some bad ones)
But this one seems to be a paradox (
x LOTS!)
Now, how I removed it
If I had done this earlier then I would have Not got so much grief

When I deleted the RealPlayer10 beta program the Zip file was left in the Recycle BIN
And was able to regenerate RealPlayer when AOL Called on the Backup files

Question:Surely
all files are in
Limbo in the Recycle bin? So how could this happen?

In my experience they are only
Live while in their original position, and in the Bin they are flagged as dead
So what went wrong this time?
