I noticed that my e-mail has been really slow lately, and this afternoon all the messages I had sent the morning before were returned( even thought they had the right address) and it wouldn't let any new messages in! Then I saw this e-mail from someone that said the following:
"Hi, this is a very humour game
This game is my first work.
You're the first player.
I hope you would like it."
Doesn't this sound like a virus message to you? One of my friends told me that a computer with my e-mail address in the subject line had tried to send them a virus today. I checked, and I think that it was sent to everyone in my address book! Has anyone ever heard of such a virus & if so, how can I get it off my computer?

Before we do anything set your month on your clock to JUNE; READ this: !!
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.klez.e@mm.html

One varient of this will start trying to set certain files on you computer to ZEROS on the 6th !!

While at that site, download the KLEZ removal tool.

Will be back when I find some more INFO.

Tom or Dwight please feel free to lend a hand on this one !

Mike

In case anybody was unaware Norton allows U to scan for viruses online!

http://security1.norton.com/ssc/home.asp?j=1&langid=us&venid=sym&plfid=23&pkj=QTMJFCSGFZVDTPSOERZ

and in the middle of the page click Scan For Viruses or go directly to

http://security1.norton.com/ssc/vc_scan.asp?langid=us&venid=sym&plfid=23&pkj=RDOJWOBWYSHSFVIGMKI

Sarah:
Here's the link directly to the REMOVAL tool, This tool works great and will clean your computer of this pesky bug.
If you have any problems on how to start in safe mode etc. post back,
but Symantec has all the instructions you should need.

ivnj:

The scaner you mention works fine except in this instance
time is of the essence. Most of us here are well aquainted with
KLEZ & have seen it so many times that a scan is unnecessary.
Note that Sarah is on the EAST coast and she is getting awfully close
to the SIXTH of the month.

If the VARIENT she has don't zero out the files mentioned @ symantec
then I'll be the first to appoligise as being an alarmest.
In this instance I'ed rather be safe & err on the side of caution.

SARAH 51:
Go to your mail address and enter this as an address:(!000 )
You may get a message that it is not a real e-mail address, but go ahead and enter it as such...It should enter your address book as the first address (at the very top)... What this will do is divert any virus'es away like the one that infected you....
I've had virus's try and get into me address book, but they were blocked...Works great....
