JavacoolSoftware have released a Brand new Version of SpywareBlaster (Version 4.0) The Old Version will work but no updates Hit "Protection updates" and You Must Upgrade(Notice is Displayed with link back to JavacoolSoftware) I have reproduced the Things you must do to transfer everything across Basically Unprotect Install the New progam then delete the old Program Re-enable the protection
TIP: The servers are very busy and Downloading the New program may be difficult So I went to this Link www.majorgeeks.com/SpywareBlaster_d2859.html and Got a First time Download I chose the Florida Link(FL) May be slow with the heavy traffic, but is reliable
quote:
While either method should work (an "over-the-top" install or a clean install), we recommend using a clean install to upgrade to the 4.0 release.
Clean Install Instructions:
1. Open SpywareBlaster and press the "Disable All Protection" link under "Quick Tasks". 2. Close SpywareBlaster. 3. Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the entry named "SpywareBlaster v3.5.1" 4. Download the latest SpywareBlaster installer from www.javacoolsoftware.com/sbdownload.html Leads to the MajorGeeks and another site link 5. Install the new version, and enjoy!

The new version includes the following extra features: -Full Vista support -Protection for Netscape -Protection for Seamonkey -Protection for Flock -A brand-new user interface -Various feature and protection enhancements -Further optimizations to every part of the program -And lots of other bug fixes and requested tweaks

Dwight Ad-Aware is not so good now .Since version 6 people have been reporting some Problems (on Version 7,) Is now on version 8 and same issues have arisen So, it's been passed over. Same thing applies for Microsoft Defender.Updates only once per month ,sometimes skips a month or 2! There is a Pay version of the same Program (by Sunbelt software) which is more reliable as regards updates. I'm keeping the Nasties at bay with my setup which is Spywareblaster, Avast! And my McAfee Firewall. Though I have heard Good things about the Comodo firewall www.personalfirewall.comodo.com All are free Bar the McAfee Firewall which I got with my AOL Membership

For now I'm staying with Ad-Aware. It seems to be working well for me, expecially when used in conjunction with the SpywareBlaster and the Hosts file. Dwight
