Pass this on to anyone who is using Ad-aware 6
I am reliably informed the the Last update for this version is about to be issued, and you should upgrade to Ad-aware SE ASAP!

You needn't do anything Smile
Its a reminder to those who are on the older program to upgrade to SE. Otherwise in a few weeks the nasties will be creeping back on Red Face

Ps There will be the Post that will come up somewhere soon moaning that They have Ada-ware and they cannot update! Red Face

You reminded me of the very time when we first linked up to the Internet, and we had Norton Tools "loaded" and as soon as we connected a virus signature was released and corrupted the harddrive and Bios Mad Eek Meant a full formatting and reload of Windows Mad
Put us off the idea on going online for about 6 months Frown Had no idea of what was happening!
I also managed to release a "quarantined" Ada-ware file onto the Hard drive. Many Moons ago and it corrupted several drivers Frown Had to remove Adaware for several weeks!Think it was a bug on version 5 ? Roll Eyes
Versions 6 and SE have this bug under control now Wink

So that means I should reinstall it? Cause you know I was told to uninstall it 2 weeks ago by a computer tech. Yet interestingly enough, uninstalling it did not help correct the damage that darn Second Thought trojan did....

It is safe to reinstall you probably had a misload Red Face
In addition load the Messenger Service stopper
and the VX2 files detector/remover from the "add-on" section if you can locate this?
Going off topic slightly have you got any thing like SpywareBlaster? This will cutdown the workload on Ad-aware by refusing entry to all sorts of nasties Cool,And a virus protection program like Avast! to keep the obvious away Wink
These programs are Free
If you are running Broadband then a Firewall is a "Must" There are some free like Kerio
Run without a firewall hit the wrong site and you'll have a blizzard of spyware and other nasties to clear up and Ad-aware nor Spywareblaster may not stop it? Frown Mad
But on dial-up you'll only get 1 or 2 hits from the same address Confused
Tell us if the Trojan returns There are 2 programs that may be able to deal with this and
you needn't delete Ad-aware

It's already happened. It was the same post here that told me how to upgrade. A few days back.
