My office computer is a Gateway with Windows XP Professional. Every month it tells me my password to get in is going to expire. How do I get rid of the time limit so the password stays the same?

I can tell you where the settings for the password are kept and can be altered But...
With Xp they could be locked out? Need somebody who knows their way around this area (it's a look... don't touch issue)
Open the Control Panel>Administrative Tools> Local Security Settings>Password Policy (padlocked)
And the Password settings are displayed in the right-hand frame. Right click on item to change Properties (settings) But can cause a lockout if set wrong. May have to go somewhere else in the Local Security Settings area?
Only help on the page is the Help topics for this area labelled Microsoft Management Console and the section on Security Settings at the bottom of the Menu.

Stop the Password Expiration warning:
Windows XP Professional

This next one won't stop the expiration date, but you can alter the password expiration sequence in Windows XP Professional:

The change will require a change in the Windows Registry. This page has the details: WinXP Password Expire

If you're not comfortable with editing the Windows Registry, perhaps you could get a systems administrator to do this for you. Errors in the Windows Registry can cause serious harm to your system.
