I'm getting an alert on my ZA log about this dns source: tia36-37-100.dsl.hccnet.nl and so I clicked more info to see what it is and saw this:
ZoneAlarm blocked what was most likely a port scan by a remote computer trying to find out if you are using Windows 2000. By default, Windows 2000 assigns port 445 to them SMB (Server Message Block) protocol which is used to share files, printers, and other services. ZoneAlarm prevented the computer at 24.80.100.86 from being able to see or access your files or printers, or to know what your computer name is.
And then it says: What should I do? SMB is intended to ensure your computer's resources are made available to other computers on a network. However, you probably don't want to share your files with the entire Internet. Using passwords to secure your file and printer sharing is a basic step in preventing unauthorized browsing or tampering of files from your computer. Because some Windows computers come pre-configured with insecure SMB configurations, it is a good idea to make sure you have password protection set up on your shares. To perform this properly, please consult Windows help resources.
It blocked it, but I want to know how to password protect my share files, anyone have any suggestions?
