I ran a PestScan from Pest Patrol and it states I have this:

ISTbar - Hijacker

Of course it gives the path in the registry key under microsoft, the download manager.

Anyone have any suggestions. Should I try HiJack this?

There really isn't any symptoms, I've run AD-Aware SE Pesonal, Sypot S&D, and my spywareblaster is running and all updated. But can't seem to figure this out. I tried deleting it in the registry and really messed it up, had to import it back. So what to do now?

Thanks for the link GarColga, I downloaded the patch and it says it didn't find it. But it still shows up on the pest scan. I read further down the page to how to delete it from the registry, and the only one I see to delete is the:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DownloadManager

If you look on that page on the no: 4, and then e.

And then it says to restore the internet explorer settings on 5.

I wonder why it bulks when I delete the download manager? Is this where I making my mistake not resetting the explorer?

Boy you got me! This utility claims to be able to remove ISTBar automatically:

I found it on this page:

I checked against Spywareblasters list and this IST bar is not listed Red Face

Perhaps it's a false positive?Install Avast's! A/V program (free) www.avast.comand see if that confirms the Pest Patrol finding? If So then use GarColgas method to remove
Another way...
Download Crap Cleaner from www.ccleaner.com
Click on the Issues icon (blue multicube)
make sure All the tick boxes on the list are ticked then press the "Scan for issues " button then once the scan is made hit the adjacent button "Fix selected issues" A box appears with the option of deleting all the Items. Click Yes, and say No to backing up the Registry. Next, click on the OK or whatever button to delete the findings
With an unswept Registry your sweep is going to pick many items up Frown But If done on a once per every other week basis, the Tally maybe only will be a handful of items?Cool
Not touched on the Main Cleaner. This really is powerful Have to check carefully on the Tick list what it will delete? Frown Things like cookies,Tempfiles and History files.
I have found it really speeds up the computer if run regulary in lieu of a Defrag Cool
TIP: It also speeds up Defrag times if run before a Defrag (takes about 2-3 minutes to scan)So expect your machine to run almost like new for a while Smile
Only consider using the HijackThis program if something here has Not cleared the problem Roll Eyes
And submit the log to a specialist forum We currently have no experts on this site, who can read these logs Frown
Post again if you want the address of such a forum? Smile
