It has taken me over a week to figure out why Juno stopped working all of a sudden but now I have figured it out. And I need your help to figure out how to undo the problem Roll Eyes

A week ago I tried to connect and McAfee popped up with an alert regarding a program trying to access the internet. I didn't recognize it so I selected "No, deny this time" Apparently it was an upgrade for Juno and because I denied it, can no longer get online. I ordered a new CD and have uninstalled Juno and reinstalled it but still have no luck. So I need to figure out how to get into McAfee and unselect, or add in, that upgrade. Naturally I don't recall the name of it...but can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to allow Juno to have full access?

Btw, I've already been to the Juno site and found the info for how to add this in for Juno Turbo but I don't use Juno Turbo so not sure that will help.

deleting rules..
try this
Open McAfee firewall click Applications

Look in the right hand(bottom corner) and locate the Delete Application rule.
Find the Juno links on the list. Click on them and they will appear in the space below the list All you have to do is click on the Delete Application rule link and they are deleted leaving the way open to reinstall the program
update (I'd rather uninstall/reload the original then it will grab the update when it connects up ) You must allow Full access (green ink) if the message comes up off the McAfee firewall program "Outward" only access is in Black ink .Fully blocked items are in RED

Or try this method to get the latest version I imagine it will overwrite your current version (and you may not have to touch the Firewall at all Wink) unless it is to access the Internet Smile

I have the latest version of Juno - they sent me a disc - but because I had blocked the application already on McAfee, having the latest version (which was the same version I already had) didn't help. But when I get home I will follow your McAfee deleting rules to see if that helps. Sounds like just what I was looking for however when I opened McAfee this morning I don't recall seeing any "Delete Application" rule. Actually don't remember seeing anything labeled Applications either...
Aren't those the steps for McAfee Personal Firewall Plus? I don't have that version. I just have the standard McAfee that came loaded on the laptop.

I will check again and let you know of my progress. Thanks a bunch Bedstor. Smile

Open the Firewall there are 3 tabs on the Left
The middle one (Internet Applications) opens the area you want Smile

Strange I though they all were the same? Confused
Could be located on the top of the window or off the menu off the Red Icon by the Clock? Wink

It was just as I suspected Bedstor...I have none of those options. I just have McAfee Security Center - not a firewall. I spent an hour messing around with it and finally just uninstalled everything labeled McAfee on my computer. Rebooted. Now Juno works. The McAfee came from the AOL security center. Now I wonder if I download it again if I will have the same problems? Will the new download "remember" what I had blocked from a previous session?

Georgia,
The new download should have to be told what programs to allow to access the internet all over from scratch, so, no, it should not block Juno. If for some reason it does, I'd get rid of McAfee altogether and not worry about it ever again, lol.

No harm in reinstalling it ,your problem happened because it was a new item not an existing one
Suggest you delete the History and Temp files
before reinstalling (just to make double sure) Smile
