Yesterday, I sent an email to a friend. I used to work with her and she kind of disappeared.

But anyway, I sent her an email to see how she was doing. Tonight, just a few minutes ago actually, I got an email from her. It said in the subject line "FWD: Undelierverable email RE:RUOK?" The RUOK was the subject line in my email orignally sent to her. Her email sent to me had a file attatched.

There was nothing in the email accept for the information that is always sent when an email is returned to you. But I thought it strange it had that information when it came directly from her email address and not the usual Mail Delivery Subsystem

I opened the attatchment, only it was empty. So, I Forwarded this same email to my other firned who also worked with her. I added a message telling her about it. I said that maybe she should try sending the other girl an email and see what happens.

Well, after sending it out, I noticed it got sent to her 3x. I only sent it once! Somehow it got sent out 2 more times! Could this possibly be a virus?? I have AOL mail and unfortuantly, Norton doesn't support them.

I just thought it could have been some sort of a virus if it got sent out 3 times when I only sent it once.

I hope this makes sense... Thanks Smile
Heather

It doesn't sound like a virus to me, but anything is possible. Just out of curiosity, what comes after @ in this person's e-mail address? They probably just don't have a very efficient system of notifying senders of bad or expired e-mail addresses. The system probably retried a couple of times and instead of giving you one summary it notified you each time.

BUT, if you're ever in doubt about a file attachment, NEVER open it. You're just asking for trouble if you get in that habit.
