I found this info which other links agree on: quote: Description: ssdpsrv.exe is installed alongside USB components usually on Windows ME. This procses (Simple Service Discovery Protocol) is a subcomponent for USB. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated....
Recommendation for ssdpsrv.exe: Should not be disabled, required for essential applications to work properly. www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/ssdpsrv/ My interpretation is that it should be allowed So Unblock it. Its Not a Spyware related item. Reinstall Zone Alarm again and clear the Cookies and Temp files in Internet Explorer Meaning you'll have to log on Manually onto almost everywhere next time you go online ,unless you have something like Roboform (free password manager)on your computer
