There is a website that will read your computer to tell you all about it so you can get help here. I can't remember what it is. On my other computer I have had a virus to come up 2 mornings in a row. AVG calls is BAT/deleter.

Try this selection Pinned topic on AP

There is also Hijackthis! which I would not recommend here, It does show an awful lot but It is used as a Fix program Have seen wrecked OS's if this is used as a deletion program...Expert users only! Frown

The Others will display much of the same info

And the most damage on those you can do is lose your place on the menus of which there are many Wink

Here is what Belarc displays. I am still having difficulty removing the infection. It obviously copies itself. Mad

I found a fix. Not sure which program fixed it. This is what I did.

Disk cleanup

Browsed add remove programs for something that should not be there (nothing)

Ran CW shredder (nothing)

Ran Ad Aware (33 problems)

Ran Spybot Search and Destroy (nothing)

Ran Trend Micro Housecall (HTTP cookies)

Ran AVG. (clear)

Whatever it was, it seems to be gone now. AVG runs every morning. I will see tomorrow morning if the thing copied itself again or not.
Is there any way of immunizing against such threats?
Thanks for all of your help. Big Grin
