Hello thought I'd sneak my question into a new forum Smile
Have I missed out on something?? My Ad Aware doesn't update anymore. It keeps telling me there was an error retrieving the update. This has been happening for 32 days now according to Ad Aware. So I uninstalled it, reinstalled the new version only to discover it doesn't run with Win ME. I reinstalled the old version again. Now it tells me that it's 795 days (or something) out of date do I want the updates? But it can't give me the updates, telling me there is still an error. Do I need to adjust some settings? Or is Ad Aware just out of fashion? Is the Windows Updater (I think? CSWChan mentioned it to Butter below) the newest hippest thing to have?
Can someone please advise me. At the moment I have no protection.
Thanky'all

I had the same thing FC Perhaps the Updates are going Cockeyed? Roll Eyes
They have a brand New version out .Just came of testing beginning of the Month and
I think its stable enough to Use Smile

All you have to do is Uninstall the Old Ad-Aware SE and Install the New Program Ad-Aware 2007
www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

Press any of the links to the right of the page to get the Program
Most reliable links (I use)are the Download .com and Majorgeeks.com sites
PS Has some new features to help protect things

I recommend everybody upgrades to the New version ASAP Smile

I know of no problems with the new version of Ad-Aware. Having said that, I generally recommend not being the first to try out a new program in case there does turn out to be some unexpected bugs.

They have done tests with BETA versions and there will probably not be any problems, but still I just don't recommend being the first one to try it out. Let those with expendable machines do that.

If you've a good system of overlapped protection, a few weeks delay will not be a problem.

This page has more detailed information about overlapped protection: Click here... Skip the stuff about Shaw Secure and start with: My only comment about this type...

I hope this helps!
