I recently I did a clean up and deleted my cookies. Now when visiting a site I get the message that "you need to enable the COOKIE support in your browser in order to be able to vote." How do I go about doing this? I have AOL & Windows 98.

Try this:
Go to Control Panel
Select Internet Options
Click on Privacy tab and then the Advanced button

You should see a box and next to the box "override automatic cookie handling" Select the box and then Accept First-party Cookies.

I am not sure...but think this should do the trick. Let me know!

I'm sorry Jersey. Dwight is the computer expert....I just tinker with them! Maybe you can send him an e-mail asking for help.

Hi JT
Do what Georgia said again and this time press the APPLY and then the OK Buttons to set and Save the position just pressing the 1 button leaves your computer"as it was" You MUST press the 2 buttons in that order (Additional job make sure the slider is pulled down into the "Accept all Cookies" position this will ensure that nothing gets blocked.

Thanks Bedstor & Georgia, I have since found out that other members on that site were also expericencing the same cookie problem. I accidently found out I can get through by accessing the site through the URL address, instead of through my fav. list.

BTW, What setting should I be keeping the cookies at?

Open Internet Explorer
Click the Privacy tab
Note the slider setting pushing it UP blocks more cookies best setting is either LOW or Accept ALL cookies
Click on the Advanced button if selecting LOW and on the next screen set the settings (both columns)to "Accept"also make sure that the 2 "tick" boxes are Unticked then press "OK" if the setting is on Accept All this box is "greyed out" only 1 tick box available
You have to select a higher setting to "ungrey" this box and change the preferences Wink
