The Norton 2001 AntiVirus program files cannot be updated any longer. If your subscription is still valid, you can get your virus definition files updated by clicking on the "Live Update" button, either in Norton AntiVirus 2001 or in your Control Panel, "Live Update". If your subscription has expired, you can download and install a very good free antivirus program from Grisoft called AVG Free Edition. Click here for AVG Free EditionI've been using this on my computer for a while now and I'm quite impressed with it. The paid for "Pro" version 7.0 is $33 when downloaded. It also looks like a great program. The virus you mention is the "W32.Blaster.Worm". It affects Windows XP and Windows 2000 systems. It shuts down the computer after putting up a message warning you that the system will shut down. The Windows Update site has a patch that fixes the problem. In Internet Explorer, click "Tools", then Windows Update. There is no charge for this service. I hope this helps! Dwight
