I don’t know if it’s Memorial Day that got me thinking, or the fact that my husband’s cousin and his wife just announced they are going to have a baby, but I suddenly have this desire to create our family tree. There are so many branches and marriages and half siblings and whatnot that there is no way I can do this mess on paper. So I started looking on-line for software and I did come across some sites and programs.
Does anyone have any experience with family tree generator software or websites? I don’t want anything TOO complicated (I’m just not that computer savy), but something with names, relationships, birth dates, death dates, wedding dates, that sort of thing. I guess picture capability would be nice, but I don’t know how practical that is.
So, if anyone knows anything about any of these things, please let me know! Thanks!!

The nice thing about most genealogy software is that there is a standard ".gen" format, so you can decide later to switch to a different program and transfer your records.
There's the fact that we all come from East Africa, anyway, in time. National Geographic has a page that states "If Carlos knowns he is half Irish, one quarter Spanish and one quarter Chinese, how is it possible that he is also 100% Tanzanian? " WWW.IBM.com/dna " listen to this story , very interesting, somehow it make you think "why would I make a family tree after all"? That's just me.... It could be fun anyway to go a few generations back.
