What are your thoughts on the 2007 playoffs in Major League Baseball ? Is your team still in it ? Are you even watching ?

Obviously as a Diamondbacks fan I am quite pleased with the sweep of the Cubbies. Seeing three series be sweeps makes me think competition is a bit anemic this year. I kind of want to see the Indians win their series just for a shot at history.

Oh I am watching alright. I will be watching the Yankees – Indians live game from Yankee Stadium tonight Cool . A friend of mine called with an extra ticket. Postseason baseball and the chance to see it in person, how could I say no? I’ll be the guy in the Mets cap Wink .

The Yankees have shown up. All they have to do now is beat Cleveland two more in a row to face off against Boston for the American League crown.

Hard yes, but the Yankees have already beaten the Tribe two games in a row twice this season so it is far from impossible.

How about them Rockies! Winning 17 of their last 18 games is amazing Eek . The only thing that could possibly slow them down is the four days in-between games. When you are red hot and steamrolling the last thing you want is four days off in a row. All that does is give them the chance to cool off.

A big thumbs up to the Diamondbacks. Granted I was hoping the Cubbies would go deep into the World Series, the D-Backs put them out of their misery early. Roll Eyes

An explanation for Koz:

The Cub's late collapse is due to Global Warming. With such a warm September, they got confused and thought it was still summer. Thus, they were late in their annual Folding of the Team ritual. But they proved to be true Cubs after all, and carried on with their tradition.

I've been watching, except for Yankee games; I have problems with teams who win all the time and I must admit it doesn't break my heart any to see them out of the playoffs. I usually boycott Yankee games because I'm tired of seeing them in the post-season, the same way I did the Braves when they were making 14 straight playoff appearances.

Nothing at all against your Diamondbacks, Dogspit, but I'd kind of like to see a Rockies-Indians World Series. I tend toward teams that haven't won in the past, and this matchup would guarantee that one team that hasn't won a Series in my lifetime will win.

As for my team, the Mariners: losing 14 of 16 right at crunch time doesn't exactly help your team into the playoffs.

And one last thing: Dear George Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman: I suggest you look back at the rosters of your teams from 1996 through 2000. You might learn how to put a team together that way. Wink

After seeing the behavior of the D'Backs fans last night I think I am going to root for a Rockies sweep. Upton threw himself sideways at the end of a slide and obviously interfered... the call was good. Even had it not been good it would not have justified throwing crap on the field. I am embarrassed at how my hometown's fans reacted / acted. It was also here that fans pelted Jeff Gordon Frown . This just takes the joy out of the games for me.

It's too bad when a small handful of goons ruin it for everyone else. I'm sure that 99.9% of the D'backs fans aren't unruly, but it's that 0.1% that make the rest look bad. It was nice to hear on the TV broadcast that fans seated in the area where the garbage was going on pointed out the guilty parties. Those decent fans realized the goons were ruining it for everyone too.

What a game last night. Watching how well Cleveland is handling Boston, for the most part, is a blast. Even when Boston hit back-to- back-to-back homers I never got the feeling that The Tribe had a worry (I hope Manny gets drilled with a pitch in Game 5 for standing there admiring his handiwork). Cleveland vs. Colorado would be a hell of a match-up. I just wish those dorks in Cleveland would lose the stupid towels.

I agree, I hate those towels Razz .

I also agree about the way The Tribe is manhandling the Red Sox, fun to watch Smile .

Way to go Manny, admiring a solo blast when your team is down by several runs. Hell of a hitter, but an ass of a person Roll Eyes .

Where is Bob Gibson when you need him? If Manny pulled a stunt like that on him he would buzz him so high & tight Manny would have one less dreadlock to worry about. If that didn’t work the next pitch would be in his ear Wink .

GO TRIBE!!!

Josh Beckett is very good LOL. Quite the game. Cannot count Boston out now that they are headed home. I guess the network better enjoy this as it is the last marquee old team match-up.
