In a day when overpriced & lazy
self-promoting showboats are talking
about striking for millions more I
thought a tribute to a player with some
some heart was in order:

Peter J. "Pete" Gray (nee P. Wyshner)
Born : March 16, 1915 Nanticoke, PA
Died : June 30, 2002 Nanticoke, PA

Despite losing his right arm in a childhood
accident, Pete Gray persevered to play 77
games for the St. Louis Browns in 1945. He
had a .218 Batting Average, with 51 hits,
including 6 doubles & 2 triples. More
impressive knowing that Pete was a natural
righthander.Gray was the MVP of the Southern
Association in 1944, batting .333 and
stealing 68 bases. Gray was 87 years old.
