To lessen Beltran's fault, Wainright's curve took a hard left just before becoming a wild pitch and then dropped through the strike zone. (But with 2 strikes, you have to try to make contact with that pitch.)

That 7th game last night was a real doozy! With apologies to all my AP friends who are Mets fans, I take special delight (schadenfreude) in watching the Mets lose. As a native north-side Chicagoan I still haven't forgiven them for destroying the Cubs near the end of the regular season in 1969. Wink There's always next year...
