I just ate this terrific apple cobbler. It was so good... it had a crust on the bottom, a sort of crisp coating topping on the top (flour not oatmeal) and a lovely slightly chunky apple cinnamon filling.
I don't want apple pie... it is a square deep dish dessert...I thought someone might have an idea here. ++++++++++++++++ 11-16-03, 07:00 PM Tree I found this one at lanierbb.com
Apple Cobbler
Ingredients: 1/2 stick butter 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 3/4 cup water 4 cups freshly sliced apples sprinkle with cinnamon & sugar to taste
Melt butter in a 9 x 9 pan. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and water. Pour the batter on top of the melted butter.(Do not stir). Add the apples on top of the batter. Bake at 350* for 30 minutes or until the top is lightly browned. This is great topped with either freshly whipped cream or ice cream.
