5 cups baking apples 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
TOPPING 3/4 cup rolled oats 3/4 cup Light brown sugar, packed 3/4 cup flour 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/8 tsp. salt 1/2 cup butter or margerine
Pare apples and slice thinly into baking dish 8" or 9" square. Add cinnamon to sugar and mix with apples. Mix rolled oats, sugar, flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Add butter, cut it in, then work with finger tips until mixture is crumbly. Place on top of apples and pat firmly. Bake at 400 degrees F. until crust is formed and apples are tender. - 30-40 minutes. Serve hot or cold. Yummy!!
