I have a recipe for crust, my question is if I want to amke a "savory" pie, like chicken pot pie, can I leave the sugar out of the crust or does it do something other than sweeten it. Will that small amount of sugar even matter? Shall I replace it with something else??? Big Grin
Thanks!

Kittypal, go ahead and make your meat pie crust without the sugar. You don't need to replace it with anything else, it should be fine, just not sweet.

Want a new twist to your pie crust ? Add some shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese to it....Great with Pot Pies and also Apple Pies.
