Looking for my sources on this one. One of the pharaohs was believed to have become Osiris upon his death, I'll have to find out which one. Imhotep? I don't think so (unless the movie took liberties I don't recall).

The tomb of the third king of the 1st dynasty, Djet, was associated with the cult of Osiris. I think he was the one I was thinking of. I can't find where he was actually considered the god, though.

He's not the one, though.

Of a dozen or so tombs discovered from this period, only four of the kings were known by name, two of whom were the Crocodile King and the Catfish King. (No doubt about it, Hollywood picked the cool one of the three!)

Mahal, I did not find any "crocodile Kings" But I found 8 different choices on the first dynasty ,5 on the second dynasty and 5 also on the third dynasty ,all bearing "Horus' with a title following .Your number 3 reference is unclear to what I found.Anyway ,since I didn't see the movie I am still guessing! Here are the Horuse's from the first Dynasty ,according to my source.

Horus Narmer (Menes)=Horus the catfish

Horus Aha =Horus the fighter

Horus Djer = Uncertain meaning

Horus Djet =Horus the snake (could be it)

Horus Den =Horus who hit

Horus Anebjiib =Horus safe of heart

Horus Semenkhet =uncertain meaning

Horus Qa'a =Horus extended of arm.

Then follows 5 for the second dynasty and 5 more for the third.

And a gallant effort at such an obscure question.

Here is The Scorpion King from the "0" Dynasty.

More information here.

While there is some controversy, most Egyptologists place the Crodile King, the Catfish King and the Scorpion King in the dynasty immediately preceding Dynasty #1, which usually begins with Aha (Menes, Menses), considered the father of Ancient Egypt.

Humm, like you said there are some different vues on the subject,so what is the "ANSWER"? Menes, AKA, Aha,AKA, Narmer?

The assumption that king's before Narmer may have ruled over a united Egypt, and their tentative identification of Menes as the Horus Aha, has led several authors to believe that there was a Dynasty '0' before the rule of Menes. This hypothetical dynasty would have been composed of 'Scorpion', Ka, 'Mouth' and Narmer. 'Scorpion', however, has only been attested at Hierakonpolis and 'Mouth' may not even have been a king at all.

It must also be noted that the identification of Menes as the Horus Aha is not supported by any evidence and that the Red Crown may initially have been of Upper Egyptian origin before it became the symbol of Lower Egypt, at the latest during the early 1st Dynasty. A pot-shard found at Naqada in Upper Egypt and dated several generations before the reign of Narmer bears the representation of the Red Crown. This is now believed to be an indication that the Red Crown was of Upper Egyptian origin.
