Congratulation Julieta, you are right. But his last name is "Herrington"

He will be conducting tests with Spanish born Michael-Lopez-Alegria.Both their ancesters could have been "ennemies"according to the "South Florida Sun-Sentinel".It would be like having a German and a Jew going out together on a spacewalk, said Lopez-Alegria.!

Or a bunch of WWII veterans going out to Pearl Harbor to see the memorials along with a bunch of Japanese tourists, all crowding to the front, snapping their cameras and chattering in Japanese. They all but cheered.

I witnessed this on December 7, 1984 - something to see, definitely. I thought one of those old birds would have a heart attack.

I saw the same thing, though much later. In 2000, I was serving on a ship involved in a multinational war games exercize in Hawaiian waters (including Japan, Chile, Canada, UK, Australia, South Korea, and Singapore). The ships and subs were berthed throughout the base, but the Japanese destroyers were parked closest the Arizona Memorial; I may still have a pic of the ships with the memorial in the background. It was very striking to see the red sun flying from warships there, but the crew members themselves were the same as you described.
