Some claim the youngest Pope was 11 years old. Others claim that it was Benedict IX (1032 A.D.), elected at age twelve. (The Catholic Encyclopedia, a believable source, says Benedict IX was closer to twenty when he became Pope.)

But most sources seem to agree that John XII, who was eighteen when he was elected, was in fact the youngest Pope.
