Are you saying that the pirate is the ancestor of both the current British Royal Family and of Guillaume le Conquérant?

Then my guess is Rollo (Hrolf) or his father, Ragnvald Eysteinsson. Both could be considered pirates, as could many of the ancestors of "Guillaume le Conquérant." Their descendants include almost all of any of the royal houses of Europe, and, according to several sources, most citizens of England of Anglo-Norman descent.

Rollo is a direct ancestor of William the Conqueror. Through William, he is a direct ancestor and predecessor of the present-day British royal family, including Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
One of his ancestors became Wilhelm the conqueror (his name was Guillaume le Conquerant) which 1066 conquered England and became the new king. Richard Lionheart is one of his ancestors.

Other persons which was related to Rollos family played important roles. Among them where some christian knights which played an important role in the first crusades the years 1095 and 1099. They founded the kingdom Neapel-Sicily and conquered Libanon and created yet another kingdom in Syria. They stayed here until 1402. The same year a normandic knight his own small kingdom at the Canary Islands.

When I read the question, I immediately thought of Rollo, but I had to make certain that Guillaume le Conquerant was who I thought he was. (I had one day of French in college. Really.) About 20 of the 42 men who have been President of the US were descended from William (and thus, Rollo) as well. Note that the monarchs not in the line of descent from William to Elizabeth II in your link were still descendants of William.

Rollo is the great great great great great grandfather of William. William was also descended from Charlemagne.

William's father was Robert the Magnificent. Robert's mother was Judith, daughter of Conan I of Rennes.
Conan's father was Judicael Berengar, whose father was Berengar of Bayeux.
Berengar of Bayeux's father was Herbert I, Count of Vermandois.
Herbert's father was Pepin of Vermandois.
Pepin's father was King Bernard of Italy, who was the illegitimate son of King Pepin, whose father was...Charlemagne.

Thus, the current royals of England, and, in fact, most of England, as well as almost half of the US Presidents, are all descendants of Charles the Great.
