What king, queen, regent, or usurper, past or present, is credited with the longest reign?
(If you look to traditional trivia books, you may not get this one!) ++++++++++ 11-03-02, 11:39 PM mozart56 Your probably looking for an ancient Mid-Eastern answer. However King Bhumibol Adulyadaj from Thailand is listed here for present times.
11-04-02, 06:53 PM mahal King Bhumibol Adulyadaj, 56 years and counting... Queen Victoria, 63 years Pharaoh Ramesses II, 66 or 67 years
These are the answers I expected to hear, none are correct. Any takers?
(I have to admit I didn't know about Adulyadaj's honorary degrees. That boy has a lot of time on his hands, obviously!)

This one I'm not counting, because even when Josephus tried to copy the Bible word for word, he got it wrong.
There are also claims of ancient kings of Eridu living and reigning for tens of thousands of years. Those don't count, unless you can find academic verification. (Good luck!)
The one I'm thinking of is accepted by academic sources. In order for the king of Thailand to surpass this record, he'll have to live until the year 2040, Queen Elizabeth until the year 2046!
