Why did the White Star line cancel all other voyages leading up to the maiden voyage of the Titanic?

There was a coal strike so it was in short demand. This shortage caused White Star Line to cancel travel on the Oceanic and Adriatic and transfer their passengers and coal stocks to the Titanic.
