Napoleon was politically influenced by a political "club" whose views were to limit the power of the monarchy. What was the name of this group and how did they get their name?

Are you referring to the Jacobins? (Name derived from the Monestary of the Jacobins, the Parisian version of the Dominicans).

Correct SR and usual excellent job. Napoleon was strongly identified with the Jacobins and he firmly endorsed their views on a strong centralized government. Great answer.
