Sept. 10, 1976 Zagreb, Yugoslavia: midair collision between British Airways Trident 3B and Yugoslav charter DC-9 fatal to all 176 persons aboard.

And as a footnote - the deadliest of all crashes occurred March 27, 1977. Two Boeing 747s, Tenerife airport. They collided on the ground while both were attempting to take off at the same time. 583 died out of a total of 644.
