What popular beverage was invented by Caleb Bradham?

For bonus point, can you recount at least one story about how the beverage got its name?

"Brad's drink", short for "Bradham"

"Pepsi Cola", named from pepsin and cola nuts (ingredients in the first recipe).

Pepsi-Cola was invented in North Carolina. The historian was on the radio recently, and claims that the pepsin story, most commonly heard, is not accurate. His favorite version is that an Episcopal church was across the street from Bradham's store, and that Pepsi-Cola is an anagram of Episcopal.
