It's mistaken nonsense. The whole idea of the red poppy is to remind us of the loss of life, which loss ought never to have been, and also the common futility of war, not to glorify warfare.It came into being after the one war which was the most futile, most wasteful and meaningless war. No man living can give any valid explanation of what it was that made the loss of even one of those millions of men worthwhile.It is that which it symbolises.
