Regardless of your other votes, do you always seem to vote for the same party's candidate for President?

Question:
Tell us about your presidential voting habits.

Choices:
I have never voted for the Democrat candidate
I have never voted for the Republican candidate
I rarely vote for a major party candidate
I have voted for each party's candidate several times
I will never understand you Yanks and your two party system

I voted for the republican presidential candidate once - to my sorrow. Unfortunately, 'fuse didn't provide me with that choice, so I couldn't vote. Mad

I try to vote for the candidate that I believe will do the best job in the office that they are seeking. To my sorrow, on several occasions I have come to regret my choice. The current presidential administration is an example...

"Unfortunately, 'fuse didn't provide me with that choice, so I couldn't vote."

Fuse is using the Florida Simplified Ballot system. It makes counting the votes so much easier.

I would have like to seen something pertaining to a 3rd party candidate. I have done that before. And it appears to be a good possibility in '08.

"I have never voted for the Republican candidate." Though, as I have only been eligible to vote in two presidential elections, that's not saying all that much.

So far my personal tally is Republicans 5, Minor party candidate 2. And, like Lighteningrodd, voting for another minor party candidate in 2008 may very well be in the cards.

Never understood you and your two party system Big Grin. Unfortunately, the one moment you get a government that can do what it was elected to do you get a President who seems, by some accounts, to be abusing the system. How any country can be governed by an endless series of uncertain compromises and deals remains a mystery to Britons Smile Still if it works for you...

I have never voted with my party simply because they were my party - except of course in the primaries where you have. When the time comes to vote, my vote goes to the person I think will do the better job. (or unfortunately in some cases, who will do the least damage)

I don't think the two party (or more) system will ever change, I just wish that we were allowed to vote outside of our party in a primary.
