I think the Democrats will win both Houses. One month is a long time in politics, but the Republicans are facing an uphill battle at this point. Almost every poll shows them either tied or behind, even in races that they expected to win. I think the worst is yet to come in the Foley Follies, and convincing evidence that the House leadership knew much earlier than they are currently admitting will surface, as will more pages with e-mails and IMs from Foley. (I see a definite split among the Leadership coming up, with Hastert pointing fingers everywhere to deflect accusations at him, but I don't think it will work. Even if the Republicans win the House, Hastert is out by February. But that's a different thread.) Basically, I see the Republicans continuing to implode, with the Foley Follies getting worse, Harris of Florida making another embarrassingly bad mistake, and Allen of Virginia getting more bad news.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

OK, I lied. Think I could be Speaker of the House now? Don't laugh, because, after reading some news that I missed yesterday and today, I don't think Hastert will still be Speaker when we go to vote.

Yeah, I think the Foley scandal will escalate as the days goes by. There has definitely been more of a cover-up than what meets the eye.
