Because of recent (and past) school shootings, some states are actually considering allowing teachers to have guns in the classroom.

Why should they only have lead in the pencils? Let 'em start even, that's what I say. Everyone should have a handgun or AK47 at work, home and play in a free democracy.

Guns in the hands of people that don't know how or when to use them are dangerous, whether the hands are those of a student, a teacher, or some gun psycho who thinks he can defend himself from an oppressive government with his AK47 or street sweeper.

Personally I'm all for less guns --- not more.

There were too many times when I would have shot a few of my students. The temptation would be too great.

I knew two teachers that DID pack guns in school. They showed me. Neither one is teaching any more, though not because of that. One was arrested for drug dealing, and the other was arrested for child molesting. Don't ask how I know.

Seems like I've heard this somewhere in the not so distant past of 'taking prayer out and putting guns in'. It just might work.
