6 Apples, cored, peeled, and thinly sliced 2 cups cooked carrot slices 1/3 cup brown sugar 2 TBSP flour salt to taste ¾ cup orange juice
Place half the apples in a greased 2-qt. baking dish and cover with half the carrots. Mix brown sugar, flour, and salt and sprinkle half the mixture over the carrots. Repeat layers and pour orange juice over top. Bake at 350º for 45 min.
This is especially good served with ham or pork ________________________________________________
09-23-03, 08:32 PM gizmogram This sounds like it would make a wonderful sauce for pork loin. I would think that in a small enough pan, if this was prepared as you say but packed around the pork loin for the last 45 minutes of cooking, it would add a nice flavor to both things. (as long as any grease was drained of course)
I think I'll try this and see if it works. If you already HAVE tried it and it didn't work, please let me know
09-23-03, 09:00 PM Sandy I've never tried that Giz, but it does sound like it would work, and be very good. Please let me know how it turns out if you make it. Smile
