Some 66 years ago in the Netherlands I tasted and enjoyed a vegetable which I had never seen and have not encountereed anywhere since. I wonder whether it is available in this country, and if so, how does one cook it? I have since learned that it is called "purslane" in English.

Thanks, Kelleygirl. Now all I have to do is find out if it grows in Maryland, and if it still tastes like the Netherland variety. Smile

Hey, Frank, I'm actually going to Maine on vacation in August --- I'll definitely be checking around to see if I see any. Maybe you could check out a local farmers' market; we have several here that offer quite a selection but not this. Good luck!
