Some 66 years ago in the Netherlands I tasted and enjoyed a vegetable which I had never seen and have not encountereed anywhere since. I wonder whether it is available in this country, and if so, how does one cook it? I have since learned that it is called "purslane" in English. __________________________________________

06-10-04, 07:46 PM frankvan Thanks, Kelleygirl. Now all I have to do is find out if it grows in Maryland, and if it still tastes like the Netherland variety. Smile
06-11-04, 06:24 PM Kelleygirl Hey, Frank, I'm actually going to Maine on vacation in August --- I'll definitely be checking around to see if I see any. Maybe you could check out a local farmers' market; we have several here that offer quite a selection but not this. Good luck!
