My cousin's heading off to college this fall. Her graduation party's tomorrow. What should I get her? What could she use in her dorm room? When I was in school I used a hot pot a lot to cook ramen and other cheap foods. Do kids still do that?

Yeah, kids still do that.
The coolest thing I got, though, was money. School is expensive, and I don't just mean tuition! Books are insane, and they never have anything good to eat on campus. You might want to find out if the campus bookstore has gift certificates. Also, you could get her a gift card for the local grocery store.

What about a refridgerator? I know I could really use one. smile Also you should check with the college and see what appliances they are allowed to keep in their dorm room. We aren't allowed to have microwaves, or coffeemakers, things like that. Also, our dorm room beds are a different size then normal twin size beds, so I have to get a different size, which they sell at Wal-Mart. Oh, and those shower caddys are great too. Bath robe if she doesn't allready have one. That way you don't have to get dressed in the steamy shower. I personally hate Raman noodles, so I get things like crackers, cereal, yogert (but my roommate had a fridge last year)soup in a can. Oh and hotpots are great! Get her some hot chocolate to go with it. smile

Something I liked was an electric tea pot. I actually used it to make Ramen, but that's besides the point smile

One of my favorite things was surprise gift baskets with snacks and fresh fruit.

All college kids love those. Plus you can buy different types. Send it after she's been in college two or three months. She'll love it.
