How can you motivate yourself to get help when you need it? I KNOW I need it, but I just don't have the energy to seek help. I am at a loss, I hate to even leave the house, let alone go to a doctor every week! UGH!!!!
When you are feeling that depressed it really is hard to do anything. Don't think about going to a doctor every week. Think about now and how awful you feel. Ask a friend or family member to call your family MD and say it's serious and you must be seen at once. I have been through this twice in my life, the last time about 9 years ago before I was due to go on vacation. I remember thinking that I was going away, and hearing a part of me saying, "How can you go away? You don't have the energy to pack a suitcase." My husband called our MD and arranged for an appointment the following AM. He was very understanding and gave me Prozac. Talking (and crying) to him was very helpful and knowing that I didn't have to feel that way ever again gave me the impetus to move on with my life. Don't waste any more time. Good luck.
Kitty, I know exactly how you feel. Sounds like you are experiencing depression. Your body may be telling you that your mind needs some help. You don't have to go to a Dr. everyweek, just go get a check-up and see what's up. If it's depression there are many things that can be done. If it's something else you need to know. I know exactly how you feel. Stress and depression have a way of just tapping you out. You have to do this. Remind yourself of that. Just pick up that phone and make the arrangements to get an appointment. Once the appointment is made, just look at that one appointment you have to drag yourself through. You will be glad you did. I'm sure you will find it much easier the next appointment. Quite a few of us have been there. You have plenty of company here. You can get through this!
