Haven't been able to get much sleep at all. When I go to lay down, I justthink for hours. I usually just end up getting 3-4 hours a night. Even though I can live on that much, I know physically that I need more. I have tried many things that other people have suggested, like meditation, etc etc blah blah, doesnt help.

Any Ideas?

I sometimes have trouble sleeping myself. I work graveyard so I have to sleep during the day. I completly understand what you are going through.

I recently discovered this tea called Sleepytime tea by Celestial Seasonings. It is an herbal tea that works wonders. This product contains all-natural herbs and flavors, and no artificial colors or preservatives.
And it is naturally caffine free.

It has Chamomile flowers, spearmint leaves, lemon grass, tilia flowers, blackberry leaves, orange blossoms, hawthorn berries, and rosebuds.

It's the spearmint and chamomile that soothe your senses.

Here are some other tips:

Don't like awake trying to get to sleep any longer than 30 minutes. If it goes that long, get up. Do something quiet and non-stimulating. When you feel tired again, go back to bed.

Caffine is a stimulant. It can cause shallow sleep or nighttime awakenings. Avoid caffinated products 6 hours before bedtime. Chocolate and cola drinks are high in caffeine.

You shouldn't eat before bed either. Going to bed when you're too hungry can cause hunger pangs that can awaken you during the night and disturb your sleep.

Some sleep specialists say that anxiously watching the clock while focusing on how much time you have yet to sleep may actually cause insomnia. Try setting your alarm, then hiding it and your watch before you go to bed.

Hopefully something will help Smile

On the rare occasion when I cannot sleep, it tends to be due to one of two things: 1) I am thinking about something exciting which I would prefer to do when awake or 2) I am thinking about something distressful which I would prefer to not cope with when awake. For the first thing, try to do something which is partically enjoyable long before you try to sleep. For the second thing, if there is not an immediate solution, write the problem on a sheet of paper, leaving it there instead of in your mind, and vow to work on steps towards its solution day by day.

We can do only our best, or we can do only God's best. With or without acknowledging God, we are human, and this means that we are limited. However, as we come to know our weaknesses, we can design ways of outfoxing ourselves so that we gain strengths where weaknesses were.

I have been reading your posts, and it does seem to me that you need to desing a rewarding lifestyle for yourself even if you accomplish little day by day. Your happiness and self-esteem will increase.
