My doctor has suggested that I see a psychiatrist. He thinks I need medication for some form of an anxiety disorder, and I completely agree with him. Does anyone here go (or have ever gone) to a psychiatrist for treatment of an anxiety disorder? About how much does it cost? I'm checking on whether our insurance covers part of it (I doubt it), but if it doesn't, then it's going to be very hard for my family to afford this. HELP!

Some therapists work on a sliding pay scale that is linked to your ability to pay.
When I went on disability several years ago my $100 per session fee dropped to $30 per session. But as soon as I started pulling in more money (being the honest person I am) the fee went back up.
I do not know how common it is, but that particular therapist waived a few sessions for me when money got very tight.
Either your General Practitioner (Family Doctor) will have a nice list of therapists including those who work on a sliding payment plan or what ever passes as Public Health in your county/city will have a list.
