Dear BlueJewel,I understand where you are comming from, too. It really is challenging when several changes come along, simultaneously, like this. And I begin to feel confused, worrying about them, too. What I do, as soon as I feel confused from worry, is stop and ask myself questions: 1. What is going on with me? Ans: I'm ruminating over changes. 2. What do I need to stop ruminating? Ans: Order and Perspective. Next, I write down on paper all the issues I need to consider, and ask myself: 3. How important is this? Is it worth my peace of mind? Ans: Nothing is worth giving up my peace of mind. (Which can also effect my health.) At this point, either I give up worrying about my success at accomplishing all these things, or I get rid of some of the tasks. I am only a human being. And can only do so much. Hope this helps, Blue. My thoughts are with you. Take good care of you, k? dorie

At least you're still in high school, I'm guessing? I'm goin to college at the end of August on a softball scholarship, hoping that I'll win a starting position, or get to play AT ALL! I'll feel like a COMPLETE failure if I don't. And on top of that, I'm having to MOVE away from my family, friends, and BOYFRIEND (it's gonna be SO hard!) . But, I also have my next talent to fall back on. I'm majoring in Art, although I still have to worry about how well I do at it, I'm thinking it's going to be a LOT easier than softball. It's hard for me to perform (athletically) under so much pressure. I'm moving into a new school, as a freshman, with people having such high expectations for me athletically. It's REALLY stressing me out, although, I don't show it b/c I'm such a laid-back type of person, but inside, IT"S TEARING ME UP! But, enough about my tragedies, and onto yours. I've been where you are right now, I always had to worry about the upcoming school year, and whether I'll make the volleyball team. I hated that, but I tried not to think about it. It was ESPECIALLY hard my freshman year b/c I moved from a small private middle school to a huge public high school. The academics part, I didn't really worry about, never really did worry about school work! *L* But I always made A's and B's anyways. Anyways, sorry, but I'm gettin in trouble b/c i'm supposed to be doing something right now, but if you need more advice, just email me, I can really relate to your problem! Good luck! ~Sweetnsour41~
