I am not sure if this is the right place to car!
but anyways...

I am 16 and i started to learn driving a car. At first, I am so excited to learn it before i have never try that before. But, when i first step into the driver seat, i feel very scared, i don't know what i am scared at, maybe of the instruction or something! it makes me can't concentrate on learning how to drive and i have been driving really bad in it! can somone help me solve this mental problem so I won't feel that again and I can do better in driving?

PLEASE HELP ME! I JUST CAN'T CONCENTRATE!

Do your parents take you out for practice? It is very important that you get just as much practice as possible. It will help you feel more confident and comfortable driving with the instructor, and eventually with the guy who'll approve your drivers license.

When first learning and driving, it's natural to be a little nervous. After you've been driving for awhile, the feeling of foreboding will go away. Eventually, driving will be second nature to you.

When I had my permit (oh, those eons ago), my dad took me out and made me learn to drive his full size stick-shift pickup. We lived in the desert, and he took me out in the sticks on dirt roads. I learned to negotiate turns, downshift while climbing hills, etc., and above all, he taught me defensive driving - being aware of what's going on in front of and around me at all times without even really trying. The techniques he taught me have helped me avoid many an accident in the last 25 years.

When my daughter gets her permit, I intend on doing the same thing with her, and I'm confident that she'll enjoy driving as much as I do, and stay safe at the same time.

Try to relax, feel confident that you have control of your "machine", and have fun.

Good Luck!

You don't say whether it is a family member or friend teaching you or a professional instructor.

No matter who is teaching you, you should tell them about your problem, so that they can put you at ease while you are behind the wheel.

The best place to start maybe in a desserted parking lot with a lot of space, so that you can get used to being behind the wheel, and having to do every thing that is required of you, except for having to concentrate on the traffic around you. After awhile all the driving skills will come naturally to you as if they were second nature. Then you can progress out onto the road and with traffic around. If possible try and pick some quiet areas to start off in, and build yourself up gradually to busier and busier areas.

By doing this you will buildup your confidence.

I have the same problem... except its opposite.
instead of being afraid while sitting in the
driver's seat, I am terrified to drive UNTIL I
sit in the drivers seat... weird eh?

I think the best solution is for you to drive
with people you trust at first. For instance
your parents or an older brother and sister. I
think everyone is scared at first... because
after all it is something new. But most of the
time you'll grow out of the fear once you become
more comfortable behind the wheel....

Practice, practice & practice!

When I learned to drive, my dad was not very patient. I finally went to the empty church parking lot in the dark (lotsa lights around) and practiced my standard gearing.. engaging the clutch, learning to back up, 3 point turns, etc.. worked out well in a unpressured way.
